Why Scotland is on our farm

Kip resting in Scotland.
We call it Scotland because it is a good resting spot on hot days when we are walking.  It's got shade and rocks of the right shape to make sitting spots.  The name came because when we were out walking the pasture on a warm day the kids would say,  "Lets go take a rest, I'm going this way", and I'd say "I'm going up and over the hill, I'll meet you there."   This would inevitably lead to me singing "I'll take the high road, you take the low road, and I'll be in Scotland afore you".   Naturally, first David and then later Michael assumed that the spot with the rocks under the tree was Scotland.   So that is it's name.
